Seminar Success! Pt 1

On October 27th, the Nanaimo Athletic Club hosted the first ever Island Top Team Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar, to introduce Robert (Island Top Team's super-mega-awesome head instructor, not to mention the only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt in the central island area!), and his highly developed style of teaching, to the Nanaimo martial arts community. The response to the seminar far exceeded expectations, as nearly 30 people participated over the course of the 5 hour event, which included both gi and nogi sessions, and included attendees from as far away as Campbell River, so a big thanks to everyone who joined us! Oh, and because she knew 5 hours is a long time to be doing Jiu-Jitsu, Robert's mom baked a big batch of peanut butter cookies for everyone to snack on during a break... wait, seriously, that actually happened? Yup. Yup it did. By the way, the entire instructional portion of the seminar (about 45 minutes) is available, in 10 parts, on the Island Top Team youtube page, which you should check out, because we just told you to. We will be doing another seminar at some point in the new year, so keep an eye on these pages for more info and the chance to check out Robert dropping some BJJ and MMA knowledge... you might even get some cookies out of the deal!
