Island Top Team's First Tournament!

Island Top Team sent a small 3 man contingent of competitors to yesterday's Port Alberni Invitational grappling tournament, but returned with a far more significant medal haul. a bronze, 2 silver, and 2 gold (one coming in the tournament's toughest division!). More details to follow, but for now, the most important thing to take away from this expedition was the strong support that our team showed, with the number of students (not to mention friends and family!) travelling to form our cheering section far outnumbering the competitors themselves. Huge congratulations to Brad, Jamie and Shane for their excellent performances on the mats, and sincere thanks to Amit, Dwayne, Gary, John, Leah, and Taylor for the boosterism, and for the celebratory post-tournament gathering at Boston Pizza! 

Also, congratulations to all the other team's coaches and competitors for the skill they displayed (as well as the hard work that led to said display), and thanks to Warren Lee of Dragon Martial Arts in Port Alberni and the Port Alberni Wrestling program for hosting the tournament.
