50/50? I like those odds!

Samir Seif, Island Top Team brown belt (and head coach of our affiliate Ontario Top Team) just posted a video of a 50/50 seminar conducted by our head instructor Professor Robert during his time at Boynton MMA, the American Top Team school led by former UFC fighter Charles McCarthy, who gave Robert his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. 50/50 guard is a unique position that many in the grappling community are unfamiliar with, but is incredibly technical and effective, so much so, that after only a week of working on the position with Robert, one of Boynton MMA's students who had been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about a year, entered an advanced division in a nogi grappling tournament, and was able to win gold, securing his final victory with a heel hook from the 50/50 guard.
